Código 1530 Rosa Tequila is a premium tequila that can be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail. What may strike you first is the beautiful naturally pink hue of the spirit. Aged in premium wine barrels to impart subtle citrus and floral notes alongside the traditional agave-rich flavour, it’s a tequila held dear to many people’s hearts.

The Heritage
Código 1530 is a brand which prides themselves with their rich heritage and family history. Every tequila produced by this company has been perfected over five generations by the local Amatitán artisan and distilling families. Throughout their history, the centuries old codes and customs – Los Códigos – have always been followed, resulting in the most selective tequila in the world. With no pressure to bring their previously nameless tequila into the commercial market, the unique recipe and distilling method was perfected until it was too good to not share with the world. Hence, Código 1530, as we know it today, was born.
The Production
Código 1530 have been working hard to produce a unique flavour throughout the production processes. Firstly, there is 2 or 3 times more agave juice in a bottle of Código 1530 than other brands, with only the juice from the first press being used. Secondly, the organic yeast is produced by a local family-run bakery. This results in a slow fermentation time of 12 days; however, the yeast still provides a special nose and subtle richness to the tequila.
During the distillation process, no chemicals, flavourings, colours or sugars are added and only the heart of the tequila is used. The water used is from Amatitán freshwater pools, filtered through the volcanic soil of Los Bajos. Finally, the Blanco tequila is aged in Napa Valley Cabernet French White Oak wine barrels for one month to impart elegant and subtle flavours, a delicate finish.
The Taste
The Rosa tequila has many aromas and notes which contribute to a unique taste, the most notable being fresh agave, citrus and floral. Overall it leads with bright agave character and finishes with the soft red wine notes of Cabernet.

Firstly, the No Way Rosé, a sweet cocktail including rosé wine and lemon juice. Secondly, a more mature and bitter cocktail, Rosa Martini, with fresh grapefruit juice. Thirdly, the Skinny Rosa Margarita, featuring fresh tangerine and lime juice for a refreshing drink, and finally, the sophisticated Rosa’s Gold Rush, which is a definite party pleaser.
The Considerations
There are always elements of any alcohol that people must consider before purchasing, here are some we picked up on. Although Código 1530 Rosa may come across as a cute looking tequila, it definitely packs a punch; this is due to the foundation being based off Código’s 1530 Blanco Tequila.
Código 1530 strive to use only the best ingredients, ensuring the highest-quality agave is hand selected. The brix level is an indication of the percentage of solids within the juice of a plant. The higher the brix level, the healthier the plant and the better flavours produced. Código 1530’s agave plants have a brix level of 32, considerably higher than the industry standard of 18. A true indication that their agave plants are growing in a healthy environment.

We use all the left-over fibres to create bio-degradable reusable bar ware and straws, we re-use the bagasse agave fibres as field fertilizer compost, and we plant native Parota trees on Código 1530 land. – Código 1530
